You're Not Invited - Pennsylvania to conduct Secret 'Re-examination' of Defective Voting System in Harrisburg

Press Release    05 February 2005

PA citizens petitioned the state to re-examine the Unilect Patriot voting machines which caused major problems in many areas in the last election, but the state wants to keep the re-examination meeting secret from the people.

(PRWEB) February 5, 2005 On Tuesday February 15th 2005 at 9:00 AM in Room #303 North Office Building. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There will be a 're-examination', by the Commonwealth's Secretary of State's office of the Unilect Patriot paperless voting system.

The public's not invited, however. The software in the system is secret, the testing of the software in the system is secret, and the results of the testing of the software in the system are secret. So it's no surprise that this 're-examination' will be 'done' in secret and the results hidden from the public.

After all, it's defective equipment which can be used to rig elections with no recountable record.

The director of the election had to resign in one Pennsylvania county due to the flagrant fraudulence of the vote results. The faulty equipment is the same which caused problems in North Carolina and has been rejected by others states for lack of security.

Huge increases in undervotes occurred in the precincts using flawed electronic voting systems without paper trails in many Pennsylvania counties. Undervote rates skyrocketed when the paperless systems were installed.

Candidates reported problems in other Pennsylvania counties using this equipment. One instance of severe equipment failure serves as an example:

"All of the voting machines are down and the polling place is using "emergency ballots." A woman at the polling place claims that she is a sworn-in judge and will personally put the votes into the computer system once the machines are up and running. Voters at the place are concerned that there will be no oversight when this woman puts their votes into the computer. When they expressed this concern, the woman told the voters that for $10 they could come back at 11:30pm and watch her put the votes into the system. Further, the polling place is running out of these "emergency ballots."

Officials there have been recipients of multiple complaints although they continue their attempts to deny the problem.
