Contested Pasadena council race: Best of six?
By RUTH RENDON    Houston Chronicle    22 June 2005

A recount Tuesday of the Pasadena District C City Council race ended with the same one-vote difference.
Challenger Leroy Stanley said Tuesday's tally showed him behind incumbent Don Harrison, 590 to 591.

Stanley plans to file a protest today claiming voting irregularities.

Tuesday's recount of the June 11 runoff was requested by Stanley, who so far has won by one vote, tied, lost by two votes and twice lost by one vote since the city's May 7 general election.

After the general election, Stanley, 68, who works in investments, was declared the winner with 525 votes ? one more than Harrison.

Harrison, 65, a retired consultant, requested a recount.

The recount resulted in a tie and forced a runoff election June 11.

Harrison was declared the winner by two votes after the June 11 election: 590 to 588.

After provisional ballots were counted last week, and Harrison came out on top again, this time by one vote: 591 to 590.
