The Registrar of Voters said Monday they reported an error in the November municipal election to the Secretary of the State's office.
The discrepancy did not change the results of the election, nor did it force a recount.
Republican Registrar Mark Clark-Wilson said there was a 426-vote discrepancy recorded from District 5 at the Mohegan Firehouse, the same polling location that had a problem with a wet ballot. The state reported several problems with wet ballots when some voters accidentally brushed their paper ballots against wet coats or other wet surfaces, and then tried to feed them through voting machines, causing several machines to jam.
Dana McFee, a member of the Independence for Montville party, and a candidate who was defeated for a Town Council seat, notified the Town Clerk and the Registrar of Voters about the discrepancy.
The revised election results were sent to the state. The Secretary of the State's Legislation and Elections Administration reported no problems with the Montville election.
