An Albany judge ruled that the Independence Party's nomination of two state Supreme Court candidates should be disallowed because of problems at the nominating convention. 10/25/2004 E-pollbook GA In roughly two-thirds of all counties, including Gwinnett and Cobb, elections workers struggled to communicate with the state voter registration database. The problem had to do with a DSL line that allows counties to access a master voter registration database. 10/22/2004 Ballot printing IL DuPage County. A sample ballot printed in 43 newspapers misplaced a Democratic candidate and instructed voters to choose two candidates where only one will be elected. 10/21/2004 Ballot printing ND Cass County. ES&S printed 120,000 ballots with incorrect text. Both "yes" and "no" would approve a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Bar codes used for alignment were printed incorrectly, too. ES&S is responsible and will pay for reprinting. Story Archive

10/21/2004 Registration fraud PA Meadville. Sproul and Associates of Chandler, Arizona, was hired by the Republican National Committee to canvass Pennsylvania and register new voters. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that some canvassers claim they were given instructions to avoid adding anyone to the voter rolls who might support the Democratic presidential nominee.
