In some cases, already long waits got much longer for voters. At one early voting site at Coors and Sequoia NW early this afternoon voters said they were frustrated.

John Lyon The Morning News 01 November 2006 Early voting has been going smoothly in most counties across the state, officials said Tuesday, although at least one county dispensed with electronic voting machines because of technical problems. Early voting began Oct. 23 for the Nov. 7 general election and ends Monday. Election officials said early voting turnout has been about the same or heavier than it was at this time in the last midterm election.

KATHLEEN FORDYCE AND ANI MARTINEZ Miami Herald 27 October 2006 Early voting for the Nov. 7 election began this week in South Florida without glaring hitches as thousands of voters got a jump-start to cast their ballots and avoid long lines on Election Day. More than 10,000 people in each county have already voted, but that's a tiny fraction of those eligible. Miami-Dade has just over 1 million registered voters, and Broward has about 922,000. For early voters, the numbers mean a quick trip to the poll.
